Sprocket Springs is a newly created project that was inspired by once the most popular game PBS KIDS Kart Kingdom, which had shut down in 2020. Fan projects did exist, (ex. Kart Kingdom Refueled) but that has been taken down by PBS.
Sprocket Springs tries to recreate the same feeling you once had on Kart Kingdom, even if you haven't played it. Sure, it doesn't look the same, but the point is to just recreate the whole feeling.
The name "Sprocket Springs" is also a mock-up of one of the names that were considered for the MMO (Kart Kingdom), inspired by Shortcut Springs.
Currently, Sprocket Springs isn't available yet, it'll probably not be available in a long time, but for now our goal is to launch a very very early beta of the game in July, but we don't have an estimated time.
In Kart Kingdom, there were many worlds such as Grand Glade, Mount Snow, The Deep, and Bug Garden. We've took inspiration from that, renamed them, and added five new maps!
Those are currently the maps planned for Sprocket Springs. We're also planning on seasonal terrain in some maps, such as Town Square. We might also plan on maps that can be unlocked by doing other things in game, such as beating all the quests.
There will be different characters in game, if you haven't seen our Discord, which we recommend joining for further updates, you'll notice that most characters in game (such as NPCS) are some of the developers maintaining the game.
We also made up our own type of characters, called Boxheads, which are just simplified people with their heads being replaced with boxes, accordingly to the theme they also have gills to fit in with the overal theming (sewer).
There will also be a similar character relating to K, called S. Like K, she's the reporter on the scene, you'll usually never see her, but maybe if you look harder.
Yes, there will be music in Sprocket Springs. Thanks to MrHandsome, you can finally experience some of the music coming in the game.
To preview a song, simply choose one of these buttons and it'll automatically play. To play another song, first pause the song you're on right now, then choose another song. To play that song, unpause it.
